Mission Statement

We are a multidisciplinary group of expert health care professionals promoting, supporting and sharing good practice for the delivery of early pregnancy care in Scotland

About the SEPN

SEPN was set up in 2002 with the aim of providing an early pregnancy study day for those working in the field, as well as a networking opportunity for professionals across Scotland working in the speciality.

We now run Scotland’s only national annual conference supporting professional development in early pregnancy care and represent all 24 early pregnancy units in Scotland.  The conference compliments the AEPU annual conference as it is held in April each year and allows a second educational possibility which is often geographically easier for those living in Scotland – although delegates are welcome from anywhere.  Additionally, as Scotland has a devolved NHS topical concerns and issues can differ from elsewhere in the U.K.

AEPU Trainee Education Working Group

We are excited to open applications to join the AEPU Trainee Education Working Group.

Following the approval of our educational curriculum by the AEPU executive committee, we now anticipate this will form the basis of content development that will improve early pregnancy training for trainees and associated healthcare professionals. The deadline for applications is the 3rd April 2026.
