History of AEPU:

The AEPU started in 1999 with a small group of health professionals that recognised the need for education and networking in the early pregnancy speciality within Gynaecology.  A few years later the annual conference was started which has historically run every year (except pandemic) in November over 2 days.  It is now recognised within the UK as the go to conference for early pregnancy care, the conference also has international interest with the recent conference having delegates from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Malta and Israel.

Vision & Aim:

The AEPU is a multi-professional organisation that represents 215 Early pregnancy units across the UK in NHS hospitals

The AEPU aims to provide education and resource to health care professionals working in early pregnancy to improve/maintain standards in provision of care to pregnant people in early pregnancy

The AEPU works collaboratively with the RCOG and RCN, the AEPU is recognised by the RCOG as a speciality society since 2008.
